What's New at our Dances?
Dances at two locations
The Washington Dance Club at the corner of Stewart St. and Boren Avenue in downtown Seattle has proven to be a popular location and our Seattle quarterly dances in 2008 will be held there. Often there is pleny of free street parking or try the low cost pay lot just across the street. The popular Mr. Q (Bill Quemuel) will spin the discs for you at these dances.
On September 13th we will have our annual Member Appreciation dance. Our Holiday Gala is December 13th.
Our monthly Everett dance is held at Oly's Dance at the Dorothy Jane Studio, 2931 Bond Street, Everett. click here for directions Oly's has a huge 2400 square foot dance floor, state of the art sound and lighting, along with plenty of free parking.
One of our goals is to make our social dances "the best dances in town." Our Dance Committee is responsible for developing goals and brainstorming ideas for dances. We have hosts/hostesses to welcome you and help make sure that your evening is enjoyable.
More time on the floor!
By popular demand, start times for dance lessons is earlier and social dances have been extended, to give you more dance time! The time for lessons is 7:30-8:15pm and the dance follows from 8:15-11pm.
Free beginning lessons continue
A beginning dance lesson is held from 7:30-8:15pm before most of our dances, included in the cost of admission to the dance that follows. No partner or previous dance experience is necessary. Special dances with a full program of events (such as our Holiday Gala) may not feature a beginning lesson. Please see our schedule below.
"Gotta dance" music
We have a commitment to provide the best possible music for your dancing pleasure. Utilizing the best recorded music of today and yesterday, our DJ Bill (a.k.a. Mr. Q) plays a mix of standard/smooth, Latin, swing and other dances. He's constantly on the search for great music and plays requests, if available. If you have some suggestions for songs to acquire, see him at any dance.
